Unsafe Frame!
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission wants parents to immediately stop using the Tots in Mind, Inc. Crib Tents and Play Yard Tents. The CPSC reports the tents pose a strangulation and entrapment hazard to children. 

This is the second recall of the play yard tents. Tots in Mind recalled the play yard tents in July 2010, and offered a repair kit. The repair kit is no longer available. 

Tots in Mind is no longer in business. 

Along with the recall, five retailers have agreed to refund or give store credit to anyone who purchased the items. 

CPSC is aware of 27 tent failures including one fatality and one serious injury that occurred between January 1997 and April 2012. 

A two-year-old boy died in 2008 after he became entrapped between the bottom rail of a play yard tent and the top rail. The fatality was reported in the July 2010 recall of the same play yard tents. 

In a 2007 incident, a two-year-old boy sustained a catastrophic brain injury when the crib tent affixed to his crib inverted and the product's broken rod trapped him at the neck. 

The remaining 25 reports to CPSC involved inverted crib tents-entrapments between the tent and the crib/play yard or failures of the tent fabric and zippers. Three of these 25 reports resulted in injury. 

In another case, a parent reported finding her child turning blue and entrapped between the product and the top rail of the play yard. 

Since Tots in Mind is out of business, five retailers who sold the products have stepped up to offer refunds or store credit to consumers.

The recall includes various models of about 330,000 crib or play yard tents. You can identify the recalled tents by the label with Tots in Mind logo on the non-mesh portion near the top of the tent. The tents cost between $60 and $85.
